Getting from the airport to the center of the city is easy. Obviously taking a taxi is the easiest way to get directly to your hostel, but also the most expensive. The easiest and most economical ways to get into the city are to take the regional train (called the Renfe) or to take the airport bus. Both of these have service directly into the city center. The bus drops you off at Plaza Catalunya, while the Renfe travels through Plaza Catalunya and to the Arc de Triumf (the closest metro stop to the Hostel Subirats.)

Via Renfe (probably the cheapest choice):
Immediately after exiting your terminal, look for the large tunnel that leads over a parking lot. If you go up and across this tunnel it will take you directly into the Renfe Station. Inside the tunnel are moving walkways so it is not especially difficult to cross. Take the Renfe all the way to the Arc de Triomf and exit toward "Passeig San Joan" from the Metro exit across the large street called Passeig Sant Joan. Outside the Metro, the Arc de Triomf will be very difficult to miss on your left.

You want to cross Passeig Sant Joan and follow the street that goes slightly diagonally from Passeig Sant Joan. This street is called Ronda Sant Pere and is the street on which the Hostel Subirats is located. (On the right side of the photo, you are looking down this street). If you follow Ronda Sant Pere for one block and look to your left you will see the Hostal Subirats. You will want to cross the large street (Called Passeig Sant Joan) and take the street that goes off it at a slight diagonal and which is called Ronda Sant Pere. You will follow this street for one block before looking for the Hostel Subirats on the left.

Via bus:
The bus is an easy way into the city center, but the price has recently been raised to 3.75? per person. This is still a great price getting into the city, but the Renfe CAN be cheaper and more direct to your hostel. First thing to do is to get on this bus directly outside the airport terminal. There may be a long line, but the bus advertises as coming every 15 minutes (Although I have found it comes more often) and I have never had to wait for more than 20 minutes for the longest line. After getting on the bus, you will ride for roughly 35-50 minutes and stop twice before you arrive at Plaza Catalunya (once at Plaza EspaÃ±a and once at Calle Urgell). Once you reach Plaza Catalunya (pictured to the right) you will have to enter the metro. Look for the entrances closest to the top of the block with the El Corte Ingles on it.

You want to catch the red line for two stops to Arc De Triumf. Once you get to that stop, exit toward "Passeig San Joan" and take a good look at the magnificent Arc de Triumf when you reach the street. You will want to cross the large street (Called Passeig Sant Joan) and take the street that goes off it at a slight diagonal and which is called Ronda Sant Pere. You will follow this street for one block before looking for the Hostel Subirats on the left.

We also have a 2 bedroom full size apartment adjacent to the Subirats, that has full kitchen and bath, that sleeps 5 to 6 with ease. The Subirats Family still run it with old world charm and are eager to help many guest. We offer free linen and towels and free wireless internet. The AAE Hotels Tour and Information Desk is also located on the 3rd floor. This office provides basic information in English and offers bike rental discounts, food coupons and other bargain vacation ideas. Limited hours of operation from the tour office in summer months, as we have 9 hotels and hostels in the area to operate.
